It was the Golden Age of baseball in New York City - from 1947 until the Dodgers and Giants headed west following the 1957 season either the Dodgers, Giants, or Yankees appeared in the World Series. In-fact, two the three New York teams were represented in the Fall Classic far more often than not during that span. Here, the great Jackie Robinson slides hard into Yankees second baseman, Billy Martin to break up a double play during Game 4 of the 1953 World Series from Ebbets Field in Brooklyn. A dynamic shot of Jackie attempting to disrupt Martin who remains focused on the task at hand.
