Collection of three Type I news service photos captured on September 8, 1930 at Braves Field in Boston, MA. During an event that featured over 50 veterans from the 1880's-1920's a team of Boston old-timers competed against old-timer "All-Stars" to help raise charity funds for both the Children's Hospital of Boston and the Professional Baseball Player's of America Charity Fund. A reported 22,000 fans were on hand to witness the Boston contingent best the All-Stars by a score of 8-4. Collection includes 1) Cy Young, the winningest pitcher of all time, warming up on the sidelines (6" x 8"). 2) Duffy Lewis, Tris Speaker, Harry Hooper posed together (6" x 8"). Known as the Golden Outfield during the 1910's, they formed what is easily one of the greatest outfield trios of all time, contributing to World Series titles for the Red Sox in both 1912 and 1915. 3) Candy LaChance, Hobe Ferris, Freddy Parent, Jimmy Collins (8" x 10"). Starting infield for Boston's World Champions of 1903 who defeated Honus Wagner's Pittsburgh Pirates in the first World Series ever held. Overall condition across this group remains superb, with gentle toning visible around the perimeter of Cy Young's photo. Each photo includes it's originally affixed paper caption though these have been separated. All three have been authenticated by PSA/DNA as Type I examples and their associated LOA's are included.
