Type I photo of future Hall of Fame manager, Joe McCarthy in his crisp home whites. McCarthy is pictured in 1929 with the Chicago Cubs, prior to beginning his long tenure with the New York Yankees from 1931-1946. McCarthy, the first manager to ever win pennants in both the American and National Leagues, would ultimately achieve a record seven World Series titles in the Bronx (1932, 1936-39, 1941, 1943), a number equaled only by fellow long-time New York player and manager, Casey Stengel. Superb 6" x 8" original photograph is fresh to the hobby and remains in excellent condition throughout. Credit stamping from Wide World has been applied to verso beneath a full paper caption, dated to 09/11/29, that remains affixed. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA.
