The card biography for John Buzhardt mentions his part in the "Ashburn deal," when Philly moved future Hall of Famer Richie Ashburn to Chicago for three players. They soon swapped John again for the last two good seasons of star Roy Sievers, placing him in elite company as far as transaction partners are concerned. Buzhardt did his best work starting for the White Sox, winning consistenly for three straight AL runner-ups during turnaround in the 1960s.
