Joe Gibbon cut his rookie teeth as reliever for Pittsburgh's 1960 championship team, later evolving to start 10-20 games per season. His career would see Joe leave those Pirates for several years, only to return by 1969 for two more seasons of reliable bullpen service and another postseason.
