This beautiful PSA NM-MT 8 single comes from a high-grade 1960 Topps set, now offered card by card in this auction. The photo clarity and overall presentation match what discriminating collectors expect of this grade and reflects the 1960 design as a superior baseball set from the golden era of postwar baseball. The #502 population report shows it proves especially tough to locate in highest grade, with just three higher.

Tigers ace Jim Bunning might not have called himself that during 1960, as teammate Frank Lary was credited with more victories and a better winning percentage. Modern analysis paints a different picture, as Bunning consistently outpitched his lack of run support and, in fact, led the entire American League in pitching WAR for that season. At least contemporaries honored him with seven All-Star seasons and eventual Hall of Fame induction, saving him from the dreaded title, "best player not in Cooperstown."
