1. (left) Large, barrel-shaped glass jar, measuring slightly over 10" in height by 6" at its widest.  Technically not a hinge-top closure, the jar has a hinged handle that wraps around the neck, with a threaded screw-top lid.  The lid is firmly affixed to the top, though we are certain some pressure would remove it.  The Close Candy label in the center of the jar is easily identifiable, though some wear has resulted in small holes here and there, as well as some minor staining.

2.(right bottom) Attractive box measuring 10 1/2" x 5 1 2/" x 3", almost identical in size and constructions to many vintage shoeboxes. Bright yellow and red graphics adorn all four sides, advertising Close's Molasses Candy. GOOD condition with chipping to the cardboard and some tears along the edges, none of which impede the attractive graphics.  Of interest to hobbyists due to the George Close Company's production of the E94 baseball card set in 1911.

3. (right middle)mSturdy chipboard box measuring 9" x 6" x 2", once housing 72 pieces of Close's Candy "Karamel Kubes." The two-piece box remains in exceptional condition, sturdy and clean with no evidence of restoration.  The edges of the lower section of the box have been reinforced with paper tape, presumably original to the piece. Red and blue graphics adorn the box lid, which appears to be a generic box from the candy company.  The Close's Candy label identifying the brand and contents has been placed on the exterior edge of the top lid.  The NRA code on the label refers not to the National Rifle Association but to the National Recovery Administration, referring to the National Industrial Recovery Act of 1933, created to stimulate post-depression business recovery by eliminating unfair trade practices, reducing unemployment, establishing minimum wages and maximum hours, and guaranteeing the right to collective bargaining.  Despite this label dating the piece to post-1933, still an outstanding item relating to the company that advertised on the E94 baseball cards collectors enjoy today.

4. (right top) Advertising its "Award of Merit" from the United States War Department, an attractive canister measuring 8" in height by 4" x 4", with an unscrewable lid, once housing Close's Candy brand of Gloss Candies.  Continuing the company's design motif of blue and yellow coloration, the graphics are quite striking.  The tin remains in good condition, visibly dented at one of the bottom corners, yet still sturdy.  Of note is the paper label still affixed to the front of the tin (though some has torn away), identifying the contents as "Legion Mix." Of interest to hobbyists due to the Close Candy Company's distribution of the caramel cards we know today as 1911 E94 cards.
