Original 7" x 9" Type I photo depicting Hall of Famer Walter Johnson on June 11, 1933; the day he debuted as manager for the Cleveland Indians. It would be the former all-time-great pitcher's first stint with a new team after spending the entirety of his playing days with the Washington Senators from 1907-27 and managing the club from 1929-32. Photo presents beautifully, practically free of visible wear aside from a small chip to the upper-left corner. Credit stamping from Wide World appears on verso along with full paper caption detailing how the Big Train captured his first victory as Indians manager with a late move that ultimately decided the contest. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA.
