Max Carey provides instructions to the man that would ultimately replace him as Brooklyn's manager, the great Casey Stengel, in this 8" x 10" Type I photo. Stengel served under Carey as a coach with the 1932-33 Brooklyn Dodgers before taking the reigns for his very first major league managerial stint in 1934. Large format photo is fresh to the hobby and has survived in excellent overall condition, free from obvious condition-related issues worthy of mention. A fantastic photo depicting the two future Hall of Famers as Casey Stengel was about to embark upon easily one of the greatest managerial careers of all time, capturing an astonishing seven world championships from 1949-1958.
