Superb original Type I photograph depicting the 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field. 6" x 8" photo features the Bums perched at the top step of their dugout. Significantly, fifth from the right stands rookie Jackie Roosevelt Robinson who famously made his major league debut on April 15, 1947, breaking major league baseball's color line and integrating the highest level of professional baseball. Upon analysis of this photo PSA Photo Authentication Services has concluded the image was captured during the Dodgers' pre-season series with the New York Yankees from April 11-13, just days before Jackie Robinson made his official major league debut. A 2" tear that is barely noticeable encroaches from the left edge towards the first player in the image, with gentle abrasion present to the corners. Official Dodgers team photographer Barney Stein's credit stamping has been applied along the right edge of verso where trace evidence of removal from an album with sticky pages can be seen upon close inspection. This fantastic example originates from the collection of former 1940-50's Brooklyn Dodger, Clyde King where it has remained until consigned to us this summer. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA.
