Pair of 4 1/4" x 2 11/16" snapshots taken at the 1927 celebration of Johnson's 20th Anniversary with the Senators. The day August 2 1907 was celebrated as "Walter Johnson Day." 1927 was Johnson's final season as a Senators player though he would come back to the team as manager from 1929 through 1932. The photos which depict Johnson standing near the Griffith Stadium home plate surrounded by players dignitaries and fans where he was showered with gifts that included the "distinguished service medal of major baseball. The photos which bear paper remnants on the reverse consistent with being mounted in a scrapbook come directly from the Walter Johnson estate and aside from the aforementioned paper remnants appear in EX condition.
