Silver-plated loving cup awarded to what appears to be "Edwin Beck" or possibly "Edwin Werk" by the "Anti Knocking Club" of Rensselaer, NY. The cup measures 4 1/2" in diameter at the base, by 11" in height, and is engraved with the dates 1851 and 1902. On the opposite side of the engraved area, is an engraved illustration of a pitcher, winding up to deliver a pitch. Underneath the base, the manufacturer, Meridian Britannia Company, is identified. The piece exhibits a rich patina, the result of heavy tarnish, but remains in excellent condition without visible dents, scratches, or repairs. 19th Century trophies and figural pieces are highly prized, and this is a stunning example.
