The 1913 Tom Barker Game is a virtual mirror image of the 1913 National Game Baseball set, designated WG6 by the American Card Catalog. Each card measures 2-1/2" by 3-1/2" and has rounded corners similar to a deck of playing cards. This is another example of a baseball card set which was created to double as a table game.

The cards feature a black-and-white player image with the player's name and team centered within a black, then white outer border. At the top and bottom of each card is a baseball play scenario such as "Strike", "Hit", "Base Hit", "Ball" and "Home Run", among others.

The backs of this set are ornately printed with a unique outer design with a player at-bat in bold red ink with "Tom Barker - Baseball Card Game" and the patent date (March 25, 1913) and details centered on each card. There are 43 identified players in the set, nine other unidentified players in-action, and two header cards which make up the 54-card set.

This example features Hall of Famer Johnny Evers in nearly perfect condition. Centering is gorgeous, though deceiving as the right border has no text while each of the others do. Some extremely faint soiling is all that's keeping this card from being a perfect Gem Mint 10, a grade SGC has never given a card from this set out of the 596 total submissions it has graded thus far.

SGC has only ever graded 12 total examples of this Tom Barker Game card, with NONE receiving a higher grade than the NM 9 offered here of Hall of Famer Johnny Evers.
