I have one to sell!
The D327 Holsum Bread set was distributed by the Weil Baking Company of New Orleans and features 80 cards identical in design to the E121 Series of 80. Each loaf of Holsum Bread (a brand that survives even today) contained one card. Today Holsum bread cards are very difficult to come by with just over 150 examples graded by both PSA and SGC the majority at the lower end of the register. There are two different versions of the D327 cards characterized by a subtle difference in the printing of the reverse. This example is of the more scarce "Type 1" variety issued earlier in 1920. As if the Holsum cards were not scarce enough there actually exists a more scarce subset! Presented is one of the set's keys one of just two graded examples that of pitcher Walter Johnson. Graded VG 40 by SGC with wear consistent with the grade it should be noted that another Holsum Walter Johnson sold at auction earlier this year was the more common Type 2 variety. Also since PSA does not differentiate between the two varieties we are unaware if the one example on PSA's population reports is a Type 1 or Type 2. We are however aware of one ungraded Type 1 that exists in the hobby. Regardless this is an incredibly scarce card one that is not likely to make itself available for sale again any time soon.
