Daniel Joseph Minnehan had 112 hits in 402 at-bats in 1891, prompting the Boston Globe to write, "Dan Minnehan of the Minneapolis team is the best hitter in the Western Association and would make a good one for some league or association team." Four years later he made his big league debut for the Louisville Colonels. At the time, he was nearly thirty-years old, and had seven years of experience in the minor leagues. Despite hitting .382 across eight games, he was sent back down to minors, keeping the roster space at third base for future Hall of Famer Jimmy Collins.

Minnehan has four poses in the N172 set. This one depicts the Minneapolis Right Fielder with his hands ready to catch an approaching ball.

Nice corners and great edges make this card look extremely crisp. While the right side has a slightly diagonal cut, none of the image is cut off. Beautiful clarity in this image, from the details of Minnehan's shoes and uniform, to the stripes of his cap, everything is clear and visible. The contrast between light and dark shades is gorgeous, with all text bold and legible.

You won't find a nicer example of this card. And that isn't hyperbole. Not a single example ever seen by SGC has received a higher grade than the EX-NM 6 offered here.
