William J. "Willie" Kuehne played for Allegheny City (aka Pittsburg, without the H) from 1885 through 1889, leading the league in games played in 1888. Kuehne has five different cards in
the N172 set.
Centering would be nearly perfect if not for a slight diagonal cut which tapers from thicker at the top to thinner at the bottom of the left edge. Printing is dark and bold, with great contrast. You can see the concentration in Kuehne's face as he squares the bat around to attempt his bunt. All text is beautiful and legible, still nicely dark after 135 years. Some edge chipping particularly on the right side is keeping this card from grading even higher than it already has.
