Herman C. "Germany" Long played for the Kansas City Blues of the Western Association in 1888 and the Kansas City Cowboys of the American Association in 1889. Long has five poses in the N172 set.  

Some slight diamond cutting is visible on this example, with the right side sitting lower than the left on the canvas. A couple of soft corners and some edge chipping keep this card from grading even higher than it already has, but the wonderful clarity of the image and the great print job which shows the impressive contrast give this card tremendous eye appeal.
