Extraordinary ten-card strip of W573 cards featuring Hall of Famer Rogers Hornsby. The W573 cards similar in appearance to the E120 American Caramel cards of 1920 were produced with blank backs and sold at candy stories in strips of ten cards. While the cards themselves are not plentiful by any means uncut strips are far less so appearing only occasionally at auction. This particular strip features Hall of Famer Rogers Hornsby along with Schultz Heathcote Toporcer Clemons Zachary Gharrity Boeckel Ford and Gowdy. The strip displays as EX but does exhibit wear consistent with a collectible of this nature including some mild creasing and folding and a miscut edge common to strip cards. The strip has been stored curled; our experience has been that such curls flatten out fine for display purposes. An outstanding example of one of the most attractive card issues of the 1920s.
