Outstanding card from one of the hobby's most beloved players not enshrined in the Hall of Fame this card of Smoky Joe Wood has received a grade of VG 40 due in part to light caramel staining in the cream-colored areas and in part due to a small mark at the bottom-right border that may have been made by pencil (it is difficult to ascertain even under magnification). The staining more prevalent on the reverse does not mar the image to any degree whatsoever as this card boasts fantastic eye appeal particularly given the technical grade. As Cracker Jacks continue to skyrocket the market for attractive collector-grade examples has become very strong and this card should prove to be no exception. A very tough card in any grade.
