Dockman & Sons was one of several brands captured in the E92 universe and are difficult
to track down today. Issued in 1909, the illustrations from the set are well-rendered and the cards are quite colorful.
This
example, featuring New York's Art Devlin, is centered just east on the
canvas but the bright red background still gives it lots of eye appeal. A slight registration error and a faint crease in the bottom right corner keep this card from
grading even higher than it
already has, but the scarcity of this issue far outweighs any cosmetic flaws on this example.
SGC has only ever graded 36 total
examples of this 1909 E92, with only ten receiving a higher grade than
the VG 3 offered here of Art Devlin.
