William E. "Will" Fuller has five different poses in
the N172 set. Will Fuller is not to be confused with "Shorty" Fuller, an infielder also featured in five different poses. This issue depicts Will, the Milwaukee catcher, ready to catch an approaching ball, with his hands at his chest.
Centering
is slightly east and south on the canvas. Contrast is quite strong, making it easy to see the subject, wearing his catcher's gear and posed behind a faux plate inside the photo studio. There seems to be evidence of trimming, which would explain the sharper-than-normal edges, and the Authentic grade. But the image is undisturbed, as is the text. A great photo of the game's early catching equipment, from the chest protector to the dual gloves.
