Jim Devlin (erroneously spelled Delvin on the card) pitched in 20 games for the St. Louis Browns of the American Association between 1888 and 1889. He went 11-8 with a 2.87 ERA, completing 15 of the 19 games he started for the Browns. Devlin has five different poses in
the N172 set. This example is the only one of this pose to have been graded by PSA.
Centering is beautiful east/west, but is slightly north on the canvas, leaving the top border lacking. The dark tones in the background, on Devlin's socks, and on his uniform letters and belt have all stayed bold, giving beautiful contrast against the light background and the rest of Devlin's uniform. Corners and edges are sharp for the grade, with only some light edge chipping along the top. Some faint pencil writing on the back which reads "D-52b" is the reason for the (MK) qualifier, but it does not affect the front of the card.
