Billikens were designed as premiums for a
brand of cigars in 1923-24, during a short, active period of Cuban card
issues.
"Snake" Henry (erroneously spelled "Hennry" on the card) played for Almendares
in 1923-24 in the middle of a very long career that spanned 25 years. A
North Carolinian and journeyman, he was coming off the second of his
only two seasons with the Boston Braves when he was captured in this
set.
SGC 3 in grade, this is one of 13 in the SGC database, with two
more in the PSA pop report. Fairly graded, a small crease is seen in the
upper right corner, with a small bit of paper lost in the upper left
corner. The reverse exhibits evenly distributed foxing throughout.
