Sturdy chipboard box measuring 9" x 6" x 2", once housing 72 pieces of Close's Candy "Karamel Kubes." The two-piece box remains in exceptional condition, sturdy and clean with no evidence of restoration.  The edges of the lower section of the box have been reinforced with paper tape, presumably original to the piece. Red and blue graphics adorn the box lid, which appears to be a generic box from the candy company.  The Close's Candy label identifying the brand and contents has been placed on the exterior edge of the top lid.  The NRA code on the label refers not to the National Rifle Association but to the National Recovery Administration, referring to the National Industrial Recovery Act of 1933, created to stimulate post-depression business recovery by eliminating unfair trade practices, reducing unemployment, establishing minimum wages and maximum hours, and guaranteeing the right to collective bargaining.  Despite this label dating the piece to post-1933, still an outstanding item relating to the company that advertised on the E94 baseball cards collectors enjoy today.
