The 1948 Topps "Magic Photo" cards were Topps' earliest salvo into the sports card arena. Consisting of interesting "self-developing" photographic cards each card worked like a Polaroid with a blank front that could be "developed" by exposing the cards to light. The company issued 252 cards in total including multiple sports pop culture and historical figures. Today the cards are difficult to find in top condition and collectors tend to focus more on cards that have been fully developed with well-defined images.
