Beautiful and rare cigar box label for "Champions" cigars, featuring a number of illustrations of famous 19th Century athletes and showmen, including John L. Sullivan, Buck Ewing, and Buffalo Bill Cody.  Featuring colorful illustration with gold accents and printing, the piece was produced by O.L, Schwencke, a well-known New York lithographer known for its colorful artwork.  In VG condition, the image quality is outstanding, some tiny edge wear apparent, including small edge tears, notably on the right side.  Some light staining and toning is evident on the reverse, along with two small pieces of tape at the upper corners.  A fantastic piece of sports art, including Buck Ewing, one of the best-known players of the 19th Century.
