Rarely offered, this is a large group of cards issued by the Spic and Span Dry Cleaners of Milwaukee Wisconsin. The dry cleaner, which conducted a variety of promotions and issued multiple sets of cards and photos featuring members of the Milwaukee Braves during the 1950s, released a number of creative card sets between 1953 and 1960. Individual cards from the issues are not common, but large groups and complete sets are seldom seen at auction. Presented here is a complete set of 1954-56 Braves, along with a partial set of 1957 Braves. Collection includes the following: 1954-56 Spic & Span Complete Set (18): A very attractive and sharp grouping of cards, each measuring 4" x 6" with a full black and white player image on the front, and a postcard back. Though the cards are largely sharp and clean, they grade VG/EX to EX on average, with some better, the primary condition flaw related to age-related discoloration at the edges. 1957 Braves Partial Set (12/20): Largely clean grouping of cards, measuring 4" x 5" with a black and white player image and a blue facsimile autograph and salutation. Average grade VG/EX with some minor corner wear and edge toning. Collection includes Aaron (HOF), Adcock, Bruton, Bull, Burdette, Conley, Crone, Haney (FAIR), Logan, Mathews (HOF), Pafko, Thomson (VG). 30 cards total.
