Bob Feller's greatness as a pitcher and ambassador for the game
makes his cards highly collectible. Presented
here is an attractive example of his 1951 Bowman card, graded EX-NM 6 by SGC. Beautifully bright with wonderful colors, the centering is just slightly west on the canvas from being perfect. Sharp edges are matched by equally sharp corners, save for a tiny chip in the bottom right. Minor staining at the borders, but a wonderful back.
An outstanding pitcher who broke in with Cleveland at 17 years old, the pride of Van Meter, Iowa was the first American pro
athlete to enlist in the armed forces after Pearl Harbor was bombed. Rapid Robert served
with the US Navy until 1945.
