Another in the series of portraits with stunning red backgrounds, King's issue in the T206 set is a beauty. There is very minor diamond cutting, with the centering just ever so slightly east of being perfect on the canvas. Soft, rounded corners and edge chipping throughout are the main reasons for the technical grade. The card's back exhibits some very faint tobacco staining and snow, but continues to have wonderful eye appeal. King's is one of the harder-to-find issues of the T206 set, being part of the tougher Southern League subset. SGC has only ever graded 92 total examples of this Old Mill back version of the King.

Frank Joseph King played 7 seasons of professional baseball, most notably with the Savannah Indians of the South Atlantic League. On this card, King is depicted as a member of the Class C Danville Red Sox of the Virginia League, for whom he played 99 games in 1909.
