"Buck" Hooker is the subject of this beautiful T206 portrait. His white uniform with the black collar look crisp in front of a bold, green background. The card exhibits some spotting with instances of color/paper loss mostly on the green background. There is minor diamond cutting, with the centering slightly east on the canvas. The edges are mostly strong, with some chipping along the left edge and in the soft corners. The card's back exhibits some very faint tobacco staining, but continues to have wonderful eye appeal.

Hooker's first name is misspelled on the SGC label, as it is in the PSA pop reports, as well. Hooker actually went by "Buck," not "Bock," as is listed in each system. At the time of this posting, that is an error which has remained uncorrected by both grading companies. Hooker's is one of the harder-to-find issues of the T206 set, being a part of the tough subset of Southern Leaguers. SGC has only ever graded 109 total examples of this Old Mill back version of the Hooker.

William Edward "Buck" Hooker pitched for 15 seasons in professional baseball, throwing one game for the Cincinnati Reds in 1902, and one more in 1903. This card depicts Hooker as a member of the Lynchburg Shoemakers of the Virginia League, a team for which he mostly played in the outfield in 1907, 1908, 1909, and 1911.
