Frank Smith fell just four wins shy of the 1909 pitching Triple Crown. Here, the Chicago star is pictured in his white cap in front of a gorgeous yellow and orange sky with mountains and green grass in the background. Soft corners are present, while the mostly sharp edges do exhibit some light chipping in areas. A couple spots of color loss in the colorful sky explain the card's technical grade. The Sweet Cap back is nearly flawless, with bold printing and beautiful centering. The "Smith, Chicago" variation of the card, tremendous eye appeal on both sides of this 1906 World Series champion's card.
