Outstanding scorebook and program from a July 8, 1896 game between the St. Louis Browns and New York Giants, an 8-3 Giants victory at Sportsman's Park. The game included a number of well-known 19th Century players, including Kid Gleason, Hall of Famer George Davis, and George Van Haltren for New York; Hall of Famer Roger Connor, Monte Cross and Ted Breitenstein for St. Louis. Extremely well-worn with significant wear to the edges, the saddle stitch binding has separated, causing all the pages to come apart. They are, however, all present and accounted for. An outstanding early scorebook from the early days of "New" Sportsman's Park, which eventually became known as Robinson Field.
