The American Caramel E90-1 issue is sometimes referred to as the T206
of
caramel issues, and has been dubbed "The Kraken" in some quarters due
to the challenges of collecting the 120 subjects found within. The set
was issued with a
stick of caramel that, as one might imagine, led to condition issues
which plague the set. This example was spared some of
the more direct
results of that, thankfully, but there are some corner issues which affect the grade. The top right corner shows a significant bend, while the bottom left is less exaggerated. All four corners exhibit rounding, as well. A couple surface indentations and some color loss on the Hall of Famer's right arm further explain PSA's 2 grade. The card's back does exhibit some snow, but is otherwise remarkably clean and bold.
Roger Bresnahan batted .313 with 4 walks and 2 HBP in the 1905 World Series, helping the New York Giants defeat the Philadelphia Athletics 4 games to 1. He is listed as "Manager" on this card, but from 1909-1912 he served as the Player/Manager for the St. Louis Cardinals, fulfilling the same dual roles for the Chicago Cubs in 1915, the final year of his Hall of Fame career.
