Another photo of St. Louis players taken by the Scholten photography studio in that city, this photo would become card #309-4 in the N172 issue, one of 27 cards in the issue where two subjects are pictured, but only one is identified.  In this case, the second subject is umpire John McQuaid (so yes, there is a batter and an umpire, but no catcher).  This example does exhibit some soiling and staining around the edges of the mount, likely long-ago glue stains from scrapbook mounting.  Some staining and surface abrasions are also apparent on the reverse.  The photo itself, despite being victim to some soiling and a bit of staining at the upper right, looks clean and well-defined, with the majority of the image area unaffected by the glue.
