Pitcher Weldon (misspelled on this card) Henley played just four major league seasons between 1903 and 1907 his professional career over by 1909. Still he was captured on this Lincoln Publishing card one of just five issues known to bear Henry's likeness. This example graded PR 1 by PSA suffers from overall wear including significant creasing and surface blemishes as well as tack holes at the top that are prominent flaws in all the cards from this issue featured in this auction. Still this is a tremendously rare piece with just four graded examples in existence. Rarely sold individually the Lincoln Publishing cards are so rare that they were once thought not to have been commercially issued. Postally used examples have surfaced over the past few years refuting that theory. Still exceedingly rare we are pleased to offer this example in our Spring auction.
