Outstanding 1924 baseball equipment catalog from the Schmelzer company. A two-page spread of the 1923 American Association Champion Kansas City Blues adorns the front and back pages of the cover, utilizing a handsome and wonderfully detailed photo of the team. When consigned to us this team image was displayed in a frame as it appears in the first image in this listing and we can confirm the presentation is quite striking. A quick look at the 1923 Kansas City Blues roster reveals that virtually every player enjoyed at least a small taste of the major leagues at some stage of their career. Players immediately identifiable include: Lena Blackburne (first from right, middle row), Beals Becker (second from right, bottom row), Wilbur Good (third from right, middle row), Ferdie Schupp (second from left, top row), Bill Skiff (third from left, bottom row), Jimmy Zinn (second from right, middle row). Catalog displays gently rounded corners with evident abrasion to edge and corners of spine while interior pages remain clean. Measures approx. 7.5" x 10.5" and hails directly from the estate of former Blues catcher Bill Skiff.
