Grouping of cards from the 1936 R313 National Chicle "fine pen" issue, which were made available to retailers as in-store premiums. The 3 1/4" x 5 3/8" cards feature black and white photos with the subjects identified in thin writing (hence the term "fine pen"), with blank backs.  These cards were consigned from an original owner collection dating back to the 1930s, and while the cards are well-preserved they do exhibit signs of handling consistent with VG cards, but grade POOR due to writing on the reverse of each card (typically a number, but some also include a team name and position).  The writing, in many cases, leaves a reverse impression on the card front, due to the thin paper stock.
