Touching pair of childhood studio cabinet photos from the estate of Jay Justin "Nig" Clarke. Depicted on the right in both photos, Clarke was born in 1882 and made his major league debut with the Cleveland Naps in 1905. He is perhaps most remembered as the catcher for Hall of Fame pitcher Addie Joss' perfect game, thrown on October 2, 1908. Pair includes 1) 4" x 5.75" photo of an approx. ten or twelve year old Clarke, mounted to 6.75" x 7" board. 2) 3.75" photo mounted to 6" x 8" board depicting Clarke as a teenager. A pinhole appears at the top. Unidentified individuals appear in both photos next to Clarke.
