On June 19, 1924, the Brooklyn Robins posted a 3-1 decision over the Cincinnati Reds at Ebbets Field. The Robins were led by first baseman Jack Fournier with three hits and righthander Dazzy Vance who scattered eight hits and struck out seven while pitching a complete game. Offered here is a “Ebbets Field Official Score Card” from the game, which was played in front of 6,000 screaming fans. Measuring approximately 6" x 9", the scorecard shows an artist’s rendering of Ebbets Field sharing equal space on the cover with Reid’s Ice Cream, a local advertiser who sold ice cream on site at Ebbets Field. Inside you’ll find the facing lineups of both the Reds and Robins with each scorecard filled out accurately over nine innings. Surrounding the game’s statistical details are vintage advertisements from the period including Bayuk Cigars, G.G.G. Clothes and the Schumm & Snyder Hat Shop. Overall condition is good with the original two staples still holding the Saddle Stitched booklet together. Original price: five cents.
