Incredibly, future Hall of Fame catcher, Mickey Cochrane and future Hall of Fame pitcher, Lefty Grove made their major league debuts on the very same day - April 4, 1925. In a strange twist of fate they would also be traded away from the Athletics on the same day eight years later on December 12, 1933. During the Athletics dynastic seasons of 1929-31 the Grove/Cochrane battery was nearly unstoppable, with Grove compiling an incredible regular season record of 79-19 while Cochrane batted .345 across that span. The duo led their Athletics to three American League pennants from 1929-31, coming away with World Series championships in both 1929 and 1930. The presented 8" x 10" photograph features Grove and Cochrane alongside their Hall of Fame manager, Connie Mack - the winningest manager of all time. A small piece of the upper-right corner has chipped away and the remaining corners are gently worn. Central image remains sharply focused with all three men beautifully contrasted. Verso includes full paper caption (affixed with clear tape) indicating the photo hails from 1931. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type 1 photo by PSA/DNA.
