Brooklyn Dodger great Jackie Robinson broke the major league color barrier on April 15, 1947, and went on to win N.L. Rookie of the Year honors. numerous pins were manufactured to commemorate Jackson’s impact on the game and allow fans to express their appreciation for the feat. Five years later, Sandy Amoros, a Cuban baseball player, joined the Dodgers at age 22. And in 1961, Yankees right fielder Roger Maris broke Babe Ruth’s long standing, single-season record for home runs with 61. This lot offers a trifecta of vintage pins saluting each of these fine ball players. The two smaller pins have diameters of approx. 1.75" each, while the Maris pin measures 3.5" in diameter.
