In the 1932 World Series, the A.L. Champion New York Yankees swept the N.L. Champion Chicago Cubs in four games. Baseball historians will remember this Fall Classic by virtue of Babe Ruth’s supposed “Called Shot” in Game 3. It was also memorable in that it was Ruth’s last World Series ever. Featured here is the official World Series program that was handed out at Yankee Stadium for either Games 1 or 2. The illustrated cover by "Thorndike" paints a close play at the plate complete with the home plate umpire getting in position to make the call. The program measures 9 1/2" x 11"  and its inside pages feature black-and-white portraits of league and team officials along with the players from both teams. Bios of either team’s manager can also be located within the program. There are no visible creases or folds showing, save for some light wear at the edges and a long-ago flattened vertical fold, as the souvenir program seems to have stood the test of time. Original price: 25 cents.
