In 1939, the three-time defending New York Yankees swept the N.L. Champion Cincinnati Reds in the Fall Classic. Not only did this make it four titles in a row for the Bronx Bombers, but it marked their eighth World Series championship overall. Offered here is an official 1939 World Series Program that was sold at Yankee Stadium during Games 1 and 2. Selling for just 25 cents at the time, the color cover shows a Yankee batter in uniform superimposed in front of a background photo of crowded stands at the “House that Ruth Built.” The program was published by Harry M. Stevens, Inc. and Includes portraits and profiles of executives and players from both the Yankees and Reds. While the cover looks intact, the spine with the two staples shows some deterioration with some tears at the spine.  Some writing can be observed at the bottom of the cover, the Yankees' 2-1 Game 1 victory scored in ink on the inside pages.
