Original 5" x 7" portrait photograph depicting Boston Red Sox middle infielder, Heinie Wagner. At the age of thirty one Wagner was both the starting shortstop for the 1912 Boston Red Sox and their defecto field general despite Jake Stahl carrying the official mantle of player/manager. After completing their historic 1912 campaign with a regular season record of 105-47-2, the Red Sox bested John McGraw's Giants in the World Series over the course of eight games. The presented photograph presents beautifully with a small chip to the upper-left corner. Stamping appears on verso that reads "Filed Before June 1919," along with a modern label attributing the photo to the archives of the Detroit News. Guaranteed Type 1.
