I have one to sell!
Featuring 252 color reproductions of photographs offset by a facsimile signature the 1952 Bowman set is known for its beauty. Considered one of the most attractive sets of the 1950s largely due to its simplicity each card offers a redemption prize of a baseball cap in exchange for five wrappers and $0.50. The set remains extremely popular today due in part to the presence of second-year cards of Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays as well as a strong overall player selection. The tough second series also offers collectors a challenge. Grading 5% EX or better 18% VG/EX 38% VG 20% G 15% F and 4% lesser this complete set is despite being "collector grade " quite pleasing to the eye. The majority of the condition issues lie either in factory centering issues or in problems relating to general handling such as mild corner or surface wear. In addition 1952 Bowmans are known for wax staining on the reverse an issue present with many of these cards. While such issues reduce the technical grade of the set the cards themselves boast excellent eye appeal. A breakdown of the set's key cards includes #1 Yogi Berra (G); #4 Robin Roberts (VG); #8 Pee Wee Reese (G); #11 Ralph Kiner (G); #21 Nellie Fox (F); #23 Bob Lemon (VG); #30 Red Schoendienst (VG); #43 Bob Feller (EX); #44 Roy Campanella (G); #52 Phil Rizzuto (VG -); #53 Richie Ashburn (G); #75 George Kell (P); #80 Gil Hodges (PSA EX-MT 6); #101 Mickey Mantle (PSA VG 3); #115 Larry Doby (VG/EX); #116 Duke Snider (VG); #142 Early Wynn (P); #145 Johnny Mize (F); #146 Leo Durocher (F); #156 Warren Spahn (VG); #196 Stan Musial (G); #217 Casey Stengel (G); #218 Willie Mays (VG - MC); and #232 Enos Slaughter (F). A very consistent set serving as a fantastic example of the beautiful early Bowman issues.
