Billikens were designed as premiums for a brand of cigars in 1923-24, during a short, active period of Cuban card issues. Bartolo Portuondo, seen here with Habana (Havana) was a third baseman already on the downside of his Negro Leagues career when he appeared in the set. Graded Authentic by SGC, this is one of 11 examples in their pop report with but a single in a 4 grade at PSA. Fairly clean as these cards go, with what looks like a partial trim along the bottom and just one corner that's a bit touched. The reverse is clean as well-this is a nice looking 100 year old Cuban card.
