This 112-year-old completed scorecard captures the inning-by-inning breakdown of the June 15, 1911 MLB game between the host Boston Red Sox and the visiting Cleveland Napoleons. Measuring 6.75" wide by 9.75" high, the multi-page booklet includes a host of advertisements touting local fare (e.g., Boston Smoker Cigars, Harvard Beer, Dr. Swett’s Original Root Beer) and shows the filled-in results of the day’s at-bats at the Huntington Avenue Baseball Grounds. Red Sox righthander Smoky Joe Wood outpitched the Naps Fred Blanding by fanning seven batters and holding Shoeless Joe Jackson hitless in four trips to the plate as Boston prevailed, 4-2. Despite its age, the scorecard remains in remarkably good condition.
