Interesting and perhaps somewhat angry letter dated June 12, 1960, from Ty Cobb to a friend or colleague. The two-page handwritten letter contains a few crossouts, and refers to an earlier, longer letter that may or may not have ever been mailed. Cobb references stock quotes, as well as someone named "Sheik," who apparently did not keep his word about something or other - Cobb closes out the letter explaining "I just am cynical and I resent being so which such as the stripe of Sheik causes me to be vindictive."
Cobb's signature is clear and unobstructed, the entire letter written on two pages of Cobb's personal stationery. Matted and framed below a photo print of Cobb in action, the entire piece makes for a wonderful display. Framed to a finished size of approximately 19 1/4" x 23 1/4".
