Outstanding April 1948 letter, entirely handwritten by the great Connie Mack to Bill Skiff, then the manager of the Newark Bears. Mack refers to a player named Miles as well as Athletics reserve outfielder Don White. Skiff was clearly looking to trade Miles (we cannot positively identify this player), perhaps for White, and Mack makes some suggestions as alternative teams (Boston and Chicago) that may be interested in Miles. At the close of the letter, Mack apologizes for his penmanship and ink blotting, but signs the letter handsomely enough. The two-page letter exhibits some wear, along with the aforementioned smudging. An oxidation stain from a paper clip is visible at the top edge, as are the original mailing folds. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
