A solid and durable starter for the first three of his major league seasons, Vern Bickford was waylaid by injuries near the end of the 1952 campaign and was never the same. His 1953 Topps card shows a somewhat dour portrait, on a card that's in nice shape. The signature is in blue ballpoint pen and nice, PSA/DNA AUTHENTIC.  Bickford died very young, of cancer, in 1960 as is a difficult and desirable autograph, with only three signed '53 Topps cards in the PSA database.
